The All India Rural Credit Survey Committee recommended an integrated approach to cooperative credit and emphasized the need for viable credit cooperative societies by expanding their area of operation, encouraging rural savin and diversifying business. Under this back ground the parliament enacted the rules for establishing Agricultural Rural Development Producer Companies. Ours is the first producer company in the state established during the year 2004.
The primary objective of the organization is uplifting of the social and financial status of its members by inculcating saving habits amount them through the spirit of mutual respect and co-operation and providing technical and financial support.
Products offered by TRAVANOO MBF cover a whole gamut of agri activities like crop production. horticulture, plantation corps, nurseries, farm mechanization cold storage and allied activities especially EDP.

Introduction
The liberalization policy of Govt of India introduced during the 1990’s served to spur to re-energize the socio economic development of the country.
Under this situation, New Age Co-operatives known as PRODUCER COMPANIES evolved. As such, Indian Companies Act was amended in 2002 under article PART IX A of the ACT. Accordingly producer companies were implemented in India through a gazette notification dated 6th February 2003. On the basis of this provision ours, is the second producer company registered in Kerala under the companies Act.
In 2004, Companies Act of 1956 was amended to incorporate a new type of entity called PRODUCERS COMPANY. To make the cooperative segment more professional and technologically sound to build next green revolution.
The objective of Producer companies were to support the primary producer or farmer by providing training in latest technologies, use of modern equipment’s and inputs and to eventually create successful agriprenuers.

Travancore Rural Development Producer Company Ltd (TRAVANCO) is one of the pioneer in Producer companies in India, established in 2004 and incorporated under the companies’ act 1956. Travanco is Head Quartered in Adoor, Pathanamthitta District, was originated with the sole purpose of making next generation agriprenuers by providing inputs for integrated development.
In order to instil sustainable development of rural communities and imparting professionalism in agriculture, we are educating, empowering and organising rural communities and farmers groups for self-sufficiency and economic growth.
Travanco initially started to assist the farmers by purchasing rubber latex and supplying to Govt Agencies. Also in coordination with Kerala Agriculture Universities, training classes were provided to Farmers for advanced agriculture technologies.
Travanco took initiatives for training & empowering coconut farmers in coastal areas for producing Coconut Oil and its marketing effectively.
The Core of the company focus is on encouraging savings and providing finance for agriculturists small and medium entrepreneurs, Travanco has developed a unique individualised financial solutions - Thrift Benefit Fund, that offers the customers maximum flexibility to suit their specific needs.
